Hi everyone. I gave Thumbtack a go as a pro (I'm a photographer in a competitive area) and after only a week I saw so many flaws which basically show how the model is skewed in favor of the requesters not the pros who fund the site.

Their is absolutely no quality control and nothing to stop anyone from sending a request, including oftentimes other pros who simply want to see what others in the area are charging. This just seems so wrong, and the more I looked into it, the more I found that smells fishy and just the wrong way of doing business. I wrote a full post about it on my website, link below.

I didn't like: Customer service not delivering after lead was bad, Lost a lot of money, No quality control, Service professionals not properly licensed, Unfair business practices.
