Most folks complain about thumbtack a few seem to offer advice.....

Look at it this way...there are review sites that rate places like thumbtack,....you tube testimonials, hundreds of sources to check....and you can read what other people have experienced with Thumbtack......seems like the general consensus is overwhelmingly negative....Overwhelmingly....

So when you hear people reporting back, taking the time to prep their profile doing the same exact thing that you did., bidding on a lot of jobs like you did,...and getting the same results like you did,......there's really only two possible conclusions....Either the whole world is crazy....or these people are reaffirming what you already suspected....It's a *** site....maybe a few people are getting jobs here and there...but most don't.....

You send out good money on a bid ..and later notice that no one got the job ....of course, no kidding ...Wow, aren't we stupid....so it wasn't a real lead....that's the issue....Yeah,they will say "put out a nice proposal, get some good reviews, ask questions, check the pros section, persevere " ..yada yada yada....

But If the lead wasn't real in the first place, you wasted your time, effort, and money...

Here's an easy way they could clear all this *** up in about 2 seconds....Simple.....A customer wants to put up a free job offer....OK...they have to provide a phone number....or email that corresponds to their name.....simple. ..shouldn't be a problem if the need is real.....No phone number - no free posting...If you as a service provider see that the lead has no phone -you, from the vendors point of view- it's practically BS...It's just way too easy and too tempting for a company to make up a lead if they don't have to back it up with a phone/ email as being genuine...How are you to know otherwise....? You dont' ....I hear the same stuff again and again..."sent out a ton of bids, worked on my profile, no jobs...." Also a few resourceful folks actually test the system to see if it's legit....and put up a dummy ad offering free work ...or almost free....$10 a month lawn mowing, FREE ! lawn mowing .....What's the reply? "customer decided to hire someone else" Right....BS- there you go....There are just way too many solid people complaining about this site..and all saying the same thing....Folks --.where there's smoke there's fire....
