Thumbtack's response through the BBB was to send the exact same template response that I received through a ton of calls into them - Thank you for being a loyal pro, but you are strongly associated to a flagged account and we enjoyed doing business with you, but you are no longer allowed on our platform. I also want to inform anyone else that is interested in pursuing this - I did reach out to several class action lawyers in Los Angeles.

In summary - there would need to be enough of us to hire the class action lawyer (estimates from 15K - 40K), but several lawyers did believe we have a case. I don't know how many of you would want to pursue this, but I can tell you between the BBB and this site, there are at least 100 of us impacted by this company's fraudulent practices.

I have been an award winning Thumbtack pro for four years with this service (over 80 hires). I called into complain to them (once again) about changing their platform and not allowing the pros proper notification about the changes and how they impact how we manage our process.

We also use a separate account for hiring people, because Thumbtack won't allow us to hire people in our same categories. We are caterers, and if we're short on staff, we used them to supplement our company. The morning after I ended my call with Emily about my complaints due to my ex partner trying to hire/sub out staff, which she was going to use! I was disabled.

I have spent 72 hours on the phone with them, my IT staff and my general staff to no avail. Thumbtack says I've been associated to some handyman company and they no longer will use me as a pro per their terms and services. I have had my IT guy go through every single online account, we've contacted our banks, we've verified social media accounts - we've done everything... The only thing that is flagged is on Thumbtack servers.

My IT people told me there is no way this could have happened unless Emily made some change to associate my account to a fraudulent account. They literally won't give me any information due to privacy laws, so I'm just shut down with no remediation. I've asked for a manager, for escalation, for anything to no avail. I have spent thousands on bids with this company and we moved 80% of our company's new revenue into spending that on Thumbtack vs.

Yelp or google and I'm just completely stunned that there is no way for me to validate or rectify what someone clearly has done to me - not the other way around.

Their final answer was that this fraudulent company would need to call in and admit what ever they did and admit that I had nothing to do with it for me to be accepted on their platform again. Unbelievable there is no way to escalate something to this level for someone who has been a loyal pro for four years.

Reason of review: Poor customer service.

Monetary Loss: $6000.

Thumbtack Cons: Customer service and fraudulent emails, Heartless customer support, Dont back up pros, Way they treat their costumers.
