I am very distressed over a situation with Thumbtack.

I understand there needs to be a background check and I am OK with that.

However, I was sent a notification for a background check to an email I dont use anymore. You see, I had called Thumbtack several years ago to delete another account I had.

I never use that account and I deleted the email. Thumbtack ALWAYS sends emails to the second account I have, and they ALWAYS send me emails to promote Thumbtack to the second email and other Spam mail.

So, to send an email for a background check to an account I dont use is ridiculous.

I was denied to speak to a live person because I am not a top pro anymore. Well, I have been for years past and because of the pandemic, I wasnt able to be a top pro. So, now I am denied to speak to one.

I was in tears for 2 hours with the threat of getting my account deactivated for good, because of a notification being sent to a deactivated email that Thumbtack knows for damn sure that I dont use it.

Finally, after 2 hours of tears and begging to please have my account reactivated, they send the link through text messages.

I did the background check and it of course came back clear. I then contacted Thumbtack through customer support through email and told them my background check was completed. They send an email with this:

Hi xxx,

Thanks for reaching out about your account.

Your profile was removed from Thumbtack for violating our Terms of Use and won't be reconsidered.

If you didn't request to reactivate your account, please contact us.

I did the background check. Its terrible I have spent so much money on Thumbtack and have been with the company since 2017.

I have over 75 reviews and over 200 customers I serviced. I have spent THOUSANDS of dollars with them. The leads are outrageously priced as well. I dont understand how this company use to be so great and now you all get away with being dehumanizing.

You cant even speak to a live person anymore. I am in tears just thinking about how they have abused their pros.

Monetary Loss: $250.

Preferred solution: I would like to get my account reactivated and credits for deactivating my account by sending the background notification to an account THUMBTACK was supposed to deactivate. I have lost business..

Thumbtack Cons: Treatment of pros, No info regarding quotes sent.
